I. About Juliane Kröner

Juliane Kröner is a psychoanalytic sex therapist, forensic sexologist, behavioural profiler and researcher specialising in the behavioural analysis and offender profiling of serious paraphilic sexual offending. Her academic work integrates clinical and therapeutic experience, criminal reconstruction, behavioural profiling and theoretical model development with the aim of advancing the scientific understanding of the psychological organisation underlying serious sexual offending. Through this work, she seeks to develop a psychoanalytically informed theoretical framework for behavioural analysis, offender profiling and investigative psychology, as well as to derive implications for the psychotherapeutic treatment of individuals with severe paraphilic disorders.

II. On Humility before Human Sexuality

The more deeply I engage with human sexuality through both scientific inquiry and clinical practice, the greater become my respect, humility and sense of awe for its complexity, its creative power and its destructive potential. This experience has taught me that human sexuality resists simplistic explanation. It compels me to approach my work with theoretical precision, methodological discipline and scholarly craftsmanship, guided by the conviction that such an extraordinary object of inquiry demands the highest standards of scientific integrity as well as profound respect for the human being.
