I. About the Atelier

The Atelier für Sexualität® sees itself as a setting for clinical practice, forensic expertise, scholarly research, and academic teaching. It brings together psychoanalytic thought, forensic sexology, and offender profiling within a shared analytical orientation committed to the complexity of its subject matter.
Its work is concerned particularly with those psychological, sexual, and offence-related phenomena whose understanding requires the differentiated reconstruction of individual structures of meaning, unconscious forms of organisation, and situational dynamics of behaviour. Psychoanalytic epistemology and clinical experience are thereby brought into a methodologically reflective dialogue with perspectives from sexual science and forensic investigative psychology.
The Atelier understands this conjunction not as a dissolution of disciplinary boundaries, but as their productive encounter. Distinct theoretical traditions and methodological approaches are preserved in their respective integrity and brought into relation where the subject matter itself calls for a perspective that extends beyond the explanatory reach of any single discipline.
Research, teaching, clinical practice, and forensic analysis thus remain in a continuing relationship of reciprocal scrutiny and theoretical refinement. Knowledge is understood not as a final interpretation, but as a disciplined process of approaching a subject whose complexity resists simple explanation.
